We have some exciting news:  we have just launched our brand new Online Clothing Store.  We have partnered with Lands’ End in order to provide a wider range of clothing and camp gear to our families.  All types of merchandise are available:  t-shirts, collared shirts, sweats, fleece, micro-fleece, outerwear, swim wear, pants, bedding, bags, and even water bottles or lanterns.  In addition, moms and sisters can now get their Laney attire, as girls and women’s apparel is available too!  All of the clothing is available in any of Lands’ End’s normal colors and both of the Laney logos (the shield, and text) are available to be put on any item (in both heat transfer or embroidery).  This new e-store will allow you to get your Laney gear on any day of the year and not just opening or closing day.  However, we will still have our normal inventory and the clothing store will be open just as in the past.

There is a link to the online clothing store from our Laney website homepage (www.camplaney.com) OR you can just click here.

We hope everyone enjoys this new, simple and easy way to stock up on your Laney gear for both the summer and school year!  We wish everyone best of luck with the end of the school year and can’t wait to see everyone again soon!

Also, be looking for the next big thing from Laney in late May – the Camp Laney App for smart phones!

It’s finally here!  We are proud to launch the official Laney Alumni Website.  The site is designed specifically for former Laney campers and counselors, and provides an avenue to reconnect with your old camp friends, relive all your favorite memories through photos and discussion boards, and renew your relationship with Laney moving forward.

Here are some of the features of the site:

  • Each alumnus has their own personal profile
  • Find and reconnect with your old camp friends (both campers and staff)
  • Search through photos from every year at Laney … and even post your own camp photos (Please bear with us as we convert all of our old slides/pictures to digital images and upload to the site … it’s quite a time consuming process)
  • Discuss camp topics on the discussion board
  • Explore ways to get back involved with Laney and help promote Laney further
  • Receive email updates on the latest news from Laney
  • And, if you feel lead, donate to the Clay McKemie Scholarship Foundation, which funds a campership to those with financial difficulties

To register:

  1. Go to www.camplaney.com/alumni
  2. Click on “Register Now”
  3. Fill out the Registration Form
  4. You will receive an email confirming your register once approved by a Laney Staff member
  5. Enjoy the site!!

Again, pass this along to all your Laney friends!  We hope everyone enjoys this new way to reconnect, relive and renew your friendships and experiences with Laney.  If you have any trouble or questions, please email us at alumni@camplaney.com.

Whitney & Luke are already on the road interviewing prospects for the 2012 staff.  They will be traveling all over the southeast for the next couple of months, and we also hope to have many staff members return for another summer at Laney.

We are looking for mature, well-rounded, college-aged young men to serve as role models for our campers.  If you know anyone who may be interested in working at Laney, you can contact us at info@camplaney.com.

Did you know that at the end of the summer Camp Laney does not shut down? We have numerous school groups visit Camp Laney for retreats.

This fall Camp Laney has hosted: Mt. Bethel Christian Academy Middle School, Harding Academy 7th Grade, Harpeth Hall 7th Grade, and Montgomery Bell Academy 7th Grade. Laney has also hosted its annual Father/Son Retreat. There were over 60 dads (17 of whom were former Laney counselors!!) and their sons who enjoyed the water slide, canoeing, the ropes course, horseback riding, and of course, Bombardy.
